Meet Chris Steinsholt: Financial Advisor at Edward Jones Investments, USAF veteran and family man extraordinaire!
I don’t often get to have men in my studio, so I was thrilled to get to capture Chris’ business headshots. We met this past year through our local local Lagniappe BNI Chapter, where he serves as our new Vice President and have really enjoyed getting to know him and his sweet family (stay tuned for his baby girl’s newborn session!).

Tell us about your business + what you do:
I work as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments. I help individuals pursue their financial goals, effectively plan for the safeguarding of their assets, and prepare for the unexpected with the transfer of risk through appropriate Insurances. I am focused on helping individuals pursue their objectives with simplicity, transparency and with a disciplined process to measure progress. My advice and guidance are tailored to support the clients current lifestyle, retirement income needs and legacy goals, all while creating comfort at every step. With simplicity and clarity, I believe I add value to the lives of my clients helping them to realize that planning now will, in time, help them to reach their desired destination. We must all learn to be good stewards of the provisions we have been offered and looking ahead is positive and proactive skill (good stewardship) we should all learn to master.

Can you tell readers a little bit about yourself:
I was Born in Houston, TX and raised in Spartanburg/Greenville South Carolina. Joined the USAF after high school in 2004 in pursuit of a job and education. Earned my MBA in 2011. I separated from the USAF in 2014 after 10 years of service (what a huge decision). I worked for Merrill Lynch right out of the USAF and then was recruited to Edward Jones in May 2015.
I am a husband to my most amazing and beautiful wife Natalie. And a father to my wonderful little blessings, Kennedy, Benjamin, and either Jacob or Elizabeth (Natalie is due the end of September – we are not finding out the sex of the child until he or she arrives!!!) I serve as a Board Member for the Rotary Club of Bossier City, I sit on the Emerging Leadership Council with the Shreveport Chamber, and I will coming this fall service as the Vice President for the local Lagniappe BNI Chapter.
My Family and I are Jewish and I serve as Co Pastor/Rabbi for Congregation Messiah Now! in Shreveport – July 4th made 5 years! We celebrate the Lord and make every efforts to invite friends and family to break bread and drink wine with us in celebration of the King!
How did you get started in your field of work?:
I became attracted to the field of work I am in when I learned that my mother-in law’s Financial Advisor set in motion supplemental lifetime income for her after she was widowed in 2003. Making use of her Life Insurance death benefit and the proceeds from the sale of her home he established financial security for a woman, who in her early 60’s, had always depended on her now deceased husband. You can imagine the fear she must have felt and now the security being offered with successful movements of the assets she had acquired.
To provide such security to my mother-in law has drawn me to the industry in such a way that I have become passionate about helping others in the same way.
What is your key to success and how do you define it?:
My God is my sustenance. Nothing else. The Rabbis teach us that all that we have, our sight, the breath in our lungs, and frequency in our ears is given to us from above. Nothing we have did we create with our own hands except that the living God gave us the ability to do so. So with this understanding, my pursuit is to glorify God in my day to day activities so that I may thank him for the provisions he has provided me. I want to make God look good by living a life pleasing to him and by adding value to others around me. Combine this with relational truths in the economy and I am afforded the opportunity to praise my God before men while building relationships that have sustained my business thus far…
What do you find most challenging about your work?:
The most challenging part of my job is managing expectations – investments are long-term therefore, volatility in the market seen through one rising or falling portfolio value cannot be viewed in the micro but in the macro – simply put, investing takes time.
Tell us about the people you have met with your career:
It’s amazing, I thought I had met a lot of folks in the Military, all variety of ranks, but now stepping out into the civilian sector and driving business for myself has put me contact with so many people with diverse backgrounds and from all over. I have found that I am attracted to folks that want to effect change in a positive light. I have also come to enjoy the entrepreneurial spirit I have found among so many people that I have met. It encourages me that people are willing to roll up their sleeve and go to work for something they believe in.
What advice would you give to other business professionals?:
Persistency and consistency with a continual pursuit for refinement – like that of an athlete. Remain on the leading edge and be ever vigilant where you sink into a place of comfort thus, adopting the idea that you have reached your full potential – push yourself to always grow. Learning is a skill that if you do not use you can lose.
Where would you like to be in 2, 5, 10 years?:
I would like to be wildly successful, profitable and known by my community where I have created a personality and discovered niches that will lead to continued growth and success. I want to be financially free to the point that I can travel the world with my family so that I may build a biblical world view in their growing so that their understanding of the King and the people he created are seen through His eyes and not the eyes of man. I want my family to be immersed in the spirit of the living God so that they me always praise him knowing that he first died for them so that they may have life – this is the heart of a true servant.
